is thought to be a floating (pelagic) crinoid. It consists of a small cup from which several free-floating arms extend. The crinoid comes from the famous Lagerstatten of the Solnhofen Limestone, Germany. It dates from the Late Jurassic, approximately 145 million years ago.
The crinoid on this plate is well-preserved and has NOT been painted. Preservation is excellent. It measures 1.9 inches in diameter (from tip of arm to tip of opposing arm). The plate measures 4.2 inches long, 3.15 inches wide and 0.35 inches thick.
